We get a LOT of requests from people regarding emergency preparation. Our customers often wonder: What will I do in the event of a blackout, blizzard, or other disaster? We get these type questions on a daily basis and as a result came up with our portable solar system, this is a small solar system that can provide you power to run your furnace and a few lights ,coupled with a woodstove you can ride out most any storm.
There is lot of uncertainty in our world today, it seems like a new disaster behind every tree these days between ice storms taking out power for weeks on end to massive windstorms taking out entire power grids.
I was a boy scout when I was a kid and we had a motto: " be prepared." People living in the United States are not immune to natural or man-made disasters. We sometimes forget that earthquakes, tornadoes, snowstorms, and other unforeseeable events can turn our cities into dark, empty towers of metal, our comfortable suburban homes into freezers. The last few years have shown us that these things can indeed happen in the United States of America, and they can leave people without heat or power for extended periods of time. Many people on the east coast lost power for extended periods this year , some of those people had some form of emergency preparedness , most didn't It's probably safe to say that those who lacked these necessities (particularly those with elderly family members or young children) wish they had taken steps to protect their families before disaster struck. Here is a link to Wikipedia that will show just how often this really happens ,

Hopefully you will never find yourself or your family in that situation, but if you want to "be prepared" talk to us about portable solar and wood heat.
Chimaree does more than just chimney cleanings. We also sell and install small, portable solar systems, and standby generators which can keep your lights on in the event of a power outage. Our wood-burning stoves provide heat regardless of whether or not your gas is running. If the unthinkable did occur you would have some measure of control over your immediate future, an emergency backup. Wood stoves are capitol investments that can not only literally save the day but will pay for itself in a few short years. An emergency portable solar system or standby generator can provide you with the much needed resource electricity . Even if these investments never save your life (and let's hope they never need to!) they may save you substantial amounts of money if (who are we kidding, when) the next energy crisis hits and heating and electric bills skyrocket. Of course, those who prepare now will pay much less for their solar panels and stoves than those who wait until the last minute. So be prepared, and ask us about our home energy and heating packages. |
